The studio
After studying textile design and weaving at École Duperré in Paris, Margaux Saint Frison joined textile designer Perrine Rousseau’s workshop, where she became workshop manager, before founding Saint Frison. Today, the studio develops furnishing textile collections, distinctive weaves, lighting and bespoke creations for interiors.
THE WORKSHOP
Developing the fabric.
The handloom is central to the development of the studio’s textiles. Yarn selection, weave structures, colours, densities and sampling gradually define each textile’s appearance, feel and use. Collections and bespoke textiles are developed in the studio. Some individual pieces and special weaves are made there directly; fabric by the metre is then produced to order with a partner weaving workshop in Europe.
FABRICS
The studio works with linen, wool, silk, cotton, paper and rattan, selected for the desired structure, feel and use of each fabric.
CUSTOMISATION & BESPOKE DESIGN
From the first conversation to production.
An existing textile can be adapted, or a new one developed entirely around the needs of a project.
